Kazan 360 Presentation

Over the weekend, members of the Camping & Education Foundation family came together at the Taft Law Conference Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The event was highlighted by an enthralling presentation featuring pictures and stories from a recent arctic expedition undertaken by a group of six Camp Kooch-i-ching alumni and lifelong friends.

The group highlighted their impressive journey spanning 1,100 miles through the rivers of northern Canada, taking a duration of 45 days. The primary route was along the Kazan River and resulted in the group aptly naming this expedition “Kazan 360.” The number 360 was chosen for two reasons: it is the sum of their ages, and it recognizes the circle of inspiration and advice provided by both older and younger generations of the Ogichi Daa Kwe and Camp Kooch-i-ching community.

The meet-up in Cincinnati served as a wonderful opportunity for friends to come together and recognize the importance of this community. We are hoping that it has helped reignite the spirit of adventure and camaraderie that is deeply rooted within both camps on Rainy Lake. Below is an article in the “Star Tribune” that perfectly encapsulates the Kazan 360 Arctic Expedition.
